Interview information
If you are invited to interview, it is an opportunity for us to learn more about you than what is on paper! Your interviewers will evaluate your answers for each interview, and the evaluations will be presented with your application to the entire Admission Committee for a final admissions decision.
What to know
The Admissions Committee at Wayne State University School of Medicine will select candidates to interview who have completed a secondary application and submitted valid MCAT scores along with letters of recommendation.
There is no guarantee of an interview and an invitation to interview does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants who do not complete the interview process are not moved along further in the admissions process and will be rejected from the application pool.
- There are three (3) types of interviews.
- Interviews are virtual through AMP (WSU SoM Application Portal)
- Interviews occur on Mondays and Fridays in morning and afternoon sessions.

MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) Stations (5) | 35-45 minutes – Each station allows one minute to read a scenario and 5 minutes to respond to questions from rater. | People from the community who are trained in MMI rating. | Rater has name of applicant. |
Presentation Session | 15- 40 minutes | Interview Supervisor or Coordinator | Brief presentation about the WSU SOM and its community |
