Medical student life
Involvement outside the classroom is an integral part of the Wayne State University School of Medicine Warrior M.D. experience.
Being a Wayne State student definitely means hitting the books and digging into clinical skills early. But it also means learning to manage, and flourish, with a full schedule both inside and outside the walls of our medical school. Our students have multiple opportunities to volunteer in the community, including at our own student-run free clinics, with area nonprofits that work with children and adults of all ages, at urban gardens, area schools and much more.
These opportunities give our students a well-rounded cultural experience by building leadership skills, providing networking and boosting citizenship while also giving back to the diverse communities that surround us.
