Clinical partners

Students work along-side exceptional physicians who teach and practice patient care. Wayne Health and Wayne Pediatric physicians as well as other teaching physicians at clinical location sites mentor and make strengthen physician-in-training skills. Each location offers unique experiences and opportunities.

  • Ascension St. John Hospital, Detroit

    Ascension St. John Hospital is a full-service 612 bed hospital with 24/7 emergency care and a Level I Trauma Center. As a high volume hospital with over 25,000 patient discharges a year, it is a Detroit destination for specialty care - including heart, cancer, stroke care, orthopedics and women’s health including a birthing center and neonatal unit, wide range of minimally invasive procedures using robotic-assisted technology, imaging and lab tests, a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation center, all on one campus.

  • Beaumont Dearborn, Oakwood Campus

    Beaumont Dearborn is a major teaching and research hospital in Dearborn adjacent to Detroit with 632 beds, Level 2 trauma center with more than 86,000 emergency visits and more than 30,000 inpatient discharges. Recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences (Stroke Center of Excellence), women’s health including birthing center and Level 1 NICU, heart and vascular and cancer care.

  • Detroit Medical Center, Detroit

    Detroit Medical Center has served the Detroit community as a leading academically integrated health system.  It is known for patient programs in oncology, organ transplant, cardiology, women’s services, neurosciences, stroke treatment, optometry, orthopedics, pediatrics and rehabilitation. The DMC has more than 2,000 licensed beds. 

  • Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit

    Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) is a state-of-the-art, 877-bed tertiary care hospital with over 110,000 discharges, education and research center located in Detroit’s New Center area. The hospital has a Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for clinical excellence in the fields of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics and sports medicine, multiorgan transplantation, and the treatment of prostate, breast and lung cancer. It is the flagship hospital of Henry Ford Health System, one of the nation’s leading comprehensive integrated health systems

  • McLaren – Macomb/Pontiac

    McLaren Macomb is 288-bed tertiary teaching hospital in Mount Clemens, and McLaren Oakland is a 328-bed hospital that provides primary and specialty healthcare services to the greater Pontiac and Oakland County with a full area. Both offer a range of services, including cardiovascular care, cancer services, orthopedic and a Surgery Center, Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Centers.

  • McLaren – Port Huron

    McLaren Port Huron is a 186-bed non-profit hospital located in Port Huron, Michigan. A community hospital founded in 1882 that makes many health care specialties available to area residents, emergency services, cardiovascular care, cancer services, orthopedic care, and general, bariatric and robotic-assisted surgeries and a birthing center in addition to several community health centers supporting local community care.

  • McLaren – St. Luke's Toledo

    McLaren – St. Luke's Toledo 312-bed acute care facility serving the Toledo/Maummee Ohio community with critical care services including cardiovascular, spine and neurological, robotic surgery, orthopedic, emergency services, and a national- certified stroke center

  • St. Joseph Mercy Oakland/St. Mary’s Mercy Livonia

    St. Joseph Oakland is a 497-bed community teaching hospital, level II trauma center and longtime leader in health care in Oakland County. St. Joe's provides comprehensive care including cardiovascular, stroke, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology and cancer care.

    St. Mary’s Livonia is a 304-bed hospital with emergency department, Level II Trauma Center, inpatient and outpatient surgery, general medicine, imaging services, physical medicine and rehabilitation services, intensive care unit, cancer care, cardiovascular care, senior services and birthing and women’s services.

  • Veterans Administration Hospital

    Located in Detroit’s Midtown, Veterans Administration Hospital provides services to more than 330,000 veterans living in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair counties.
