Graduate information

Registration/RSVP

All graduates in the Class of 2024 must register for Commencement regardless of whether you are attending the ceremony or not.  Each student will receive 10 guest tickets for the ceremony.  You may request additional tickets when completing this form.  We will not know how many extra tickets we have until every student RSVPs, so make sure to submit the Registration/RSVP form by May 1, 2024.

Visit the Ticketing page for further details.

Since many of you are moving, it is imperative that we have an accurate address on file.  Please take a moment to review your address and update it if necessary.  Log into Academica, then click Student Records > View Personal Information.  Review the information and edit if needed.  In the event that you do not attend commencement your diploma, class composite, etc. will be mailed so be sure that your address is correct!

Entry and line-up

  • Doors open at 11:30, please arrive by noon.
  • Graduates must be in their seats 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
  • Graduates will enter the theater through the SIDE ENTRANCE located on Montcalm. This entrance is directly across the street from the Fox Theater Parking Structure. Signs will be posted.
  • Graduates will then be directed to the balcony area for line-up instructions.
  • Guests are not allowed in the graduate line-up area.
  • Graduates should arrive with their academic regalia (cap, gown and hood). Be sure to wear the tassel you were issued with your cap and gown. Tassels are worn on the right side.
  • Any academic regalia not picked up by Tuesday, June 4th will transported to the Fox Theatre and available in the balcony area.
  • Academic dress is like a military uniform or religious vestment. Corsages, purses, cameras, flowers, or organizational insignia are not allowed in the procession. Wear light clothing. Gentlemen may wish to remove their jackets since academic gowns can be quite warm. All personal belongings should be given to family members prior to entering the theatre. We also suggest you bring bobby pins to secure your tam (men too).
  • Wear comfortable footwear. As a safety precaution, spiked or high-heeled shoes are not recommended. The stairs leading onto the stage are quite steep.
  • Graduates are required to remain for the entire ceremony.

NameCoach

All students must also register for NameCoach.  NameCoach is a voice recording tool that will allow us to pronounce your name correctly at the Ceremony.   Click here to record your name.
