Tue Jun 24 @ Noon

Essential Learning and Study Strategies for Student Success

This session's intent is to empower medical students to become more effective  and self-regulated learners, and to equip faculty with strategies to foster metacognitive development in their students.

By the end of this session, participants will:
• Identify and describe the six evidence-based learning strategies—Spaced Practice, Retrieval Practice, Elaboration, Interleaving, Concrete Examples, and Dual Coding.
• Explain the cognitive science principles behind each strategy and their relevance to medical education.
• Apply practical techniques for incorporating these strategies into their personal study routines (students) or teaching methods (faculty).
