United States Medical Licensing Examination

The United States Medical Licensing Examination ®(USMLE®) is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the United States and is sponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®).

Medical students take USMLE Step 1 at the completion of Year 2, USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) and Clinical Skills (CS) are taken in Year 4. Please click on the link below or refer to Quick Links to access this website:

USMLE World (Question Banks)

Wayne State School of Medicine provides each student with the UWorld Question Bank for both Step 1 and Step 2. We recommend that students use the Step 1 question bank throughout segment 2 to prepare for exams and for USMLE Step 1. We also recommend that students use the Step 2 question bank throughout Year 3 to prepare for the NBME subject exams and for USMLE Step 2.
