Purposes & Principles of Accreditation

  • Accreditation is a review of an institution or program using a defined set of standards. Accreditation of Wayne State University’s Medical Education is determined by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
  • Accreditation includes the following components:
    • Self-Study Based on Standards
    • Student Study and Report
    • Peer Review/Site Visit
    • Continuous Quality Improvement and Follow-up
