Lisa MacLean, M.D., is assistant dean of Student Affairs and Career Development.

Dr. MacLean comes to the School of Medicine from Henry Ford Hospital, where she has served as Psychiatry Residency Program director, Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee, director of Education for the Psychiatry Department and Undergraduate Medical Education.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Kalamazoo College in 1989 and her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1993. She completed a psychiatry residency with the Henry Ford Health System in 1997 and served as chief resident from 1996 to 1997. She also practiced privately.

Dr. MacLean has served as a clinical assistant professor in the WSU Psychiatry Department since 2003. She works with School of Medicine students at Henry Ford Hospital, teaching didactics and mentoring. She will continue her role as a clinical educator.

Board-certified in psychiatry and neurology, she was named the Mentor of the Year by Henry Ford psychiatry residents in 2006, 2007 and 2010. She was a 2009 nominee for the House Staff Advocate of the Year Award of Appreciation.

She is a member of the Michigan Psychiatric Society, and has served as that organization’s treasurer. She also is a member of the Association for Academic Psychiatry and the American Association for Psychiatry Residency Directors.

Hour Magazine named her a “Top Doc” in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
