Doctoral Student Support It is mandatory that careful review of the source/s of financial support be completed. Source/s of stipend support beyond fellowship conclusion must be identified by the mentor at the time s/he accepts the responsibility of mentorship. Prospective mentors seeking to accept responsibility for doctoral students must have approval from the Dean of the School of Medicine, obtainable by his designees, the Vice Dean of Research and Graduate Programs for the School of Medicine, or the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs. Approval must be recorded using the designated “FORM FOR DOCTORAL STUDENT SUPPORT”.

POLICY REGARDING THE SUPPORT OF DOCTORAL STUDENTS [PDF]

Discretionary Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) Each graduate unit is restricted to one (1) Discretionary Graduate Research Assistantships (DGRA) per academic year. The usage of the DGRAs is for either recruitment or for stipend support for a continuing student (i.e. they are not transferable). Support is limited to a one year commitment (i.e. they are not subject to roll-over).
