Michael Geheb, M.D. ’73, is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, holds a certification in Critical Care Medicine and was most recently senior vice president of Beaumont Health. He previously was president of Oakwood Physicians and executive vice president of Physician Planning and Physician Operations for Oakwood Healthcare.
After receiving his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Geheb completed his Internal Medicine and chief medical residencies and his Nephrology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
As an administrator, Dr. Geheb helped raise the operating and financial performance of the Academic Health Centers at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Oregon Health & Science University to recognition by Solucient (now Truven Health)’s “Top 100 Hospitals Award.”
In 2006, he joined Oakwood Hospital as president of Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center, Dearborn, and Oakwood Hospital, Taylor, Mich.
Dr. Geheb has served on the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Board of the University Health System Consortium, as well as being a member of the Association of Academic Health Centers and the Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. He is a founding member of the Blue Ridge Academic Health Group, served on the Regional Policy Board (Region 5) of the American Hospital Association and was a member of Health Insights, a Leadership Group of health companies.
He received the WSU School of Medicine Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997.
