She is the associate residency program director for the University of Wisconsin Emergency Medicine residency program, as well as the medical director of Clinical Staffing for the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine. She is involved nationally with the Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine and the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors. She is an executive editor for Rosh Review, has written several textbook chapters, and served as a senior textbook editor. Her areas of interest include resident and medical student education, resident evaluation, Emergency Medicine board preparation, visual diagnosis, and mentorship. Dr. Barclay-Buchanan received the WSU School of Medicine Recent Alumni Award. She and her husband, Steve, live in Madison, Wisc., with their two sons, Calder and Owen.
