The Munising Ice Fest is held along Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore during the first week of February. This area offers some of the best ice climbing in the Midwest. Climbs range from 20-150 ft. of vertical to overhanging ice. Events included ice climbing classes, gear demos, and key speakers. Check out the pictures. Feb 17, 2000 Ed Viesturs Endeavor 8000. The photographs and stories from an elite climber. Red River Gorge Climbing Trip. Check out the pictures. Oct 8-10, 1999 Wilderness First Aid Weekend at Island Lake Recreation Area. An adventure packed weekend with food, fun, and wilderness first aid training. The weekend included 2 nights in a cabin and wilderness First Aid training catered to medical students. A dramatic mock search and rescue concluded the weekend. Sept. 26, 1999 Stress and Rescue Dive Course hosted by the folks of Rec Diving.
