1. Where do I start?
If you refer to the sitemap of this website, you will find information regarding location, contact, scope of services and fees. For any additional information or clarification please contact the staff by e mail or fax with your questions and will be happy to respond to you within 24 hours

As a start, we must have two requirements prior to initiating your work
• An approval by the Institutional Review Board
• A validated method of payment

Complete the top portion of the Core Research Facility Request Form. For billing provide a VISA number with expiration date or a purchase order number which can be for an exact dollar amount for closed end project(s) or an open purchase order number for continuous service. If you have questions in filling out the bottom portion for services requested contact the laboratory for assistance.

2. How much does it cost?
The fee for service structure is outlined and detailed in the “Order Form” posted on this web site. This covers most of the routine services and specialized technologies. There are a number of scenarios where the charges have to be established on a case-by-case basis depending on the complexity and special requirements of certain projects (example: an investigator requesting development of a tissue-based immunohistochemistry for an antibody that has not been applied to tissue sections before).

3. How do I pay for the services?
For "closed end" project (s) a one time pre arranged payment by credit card or a PO is sufficient. For an ongoing project (a grant of several years), an open PO will be required and UPRS will generate invoices and will inform the investigators when their account is becoming "low for the work requested/expected"

4. How long does it take?
For histology services (producing slides from wet tissues or paraffin sections) we will honor a turn around time of a week (5 working days)

For immunohistochemistry of two standard antibodies on up to fifty blocks, a two to three week turn around time is to be expected.

For the case identification and retrieval function, the turn around time will depend on the length and complexity of the required list with an expected range of two to six weeks.

For the construction of one tissue microarray (starting from the point where tissue samples are available) turn around time is two weeks.

*Details regarding more complex work and ongoing projects need to be discussed on a case by case basis. more...
