Children Special Needs: At the Crossroads of Care
Each year HealthFOCUS brings to light issues that adversely affect children in urban environments. Children with special health care needs have chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions. Most of these children are affected by more than one of these conditions and require integrative care. This year HealthFOCUS strives to increase awareness about the issues that affect children with special needs, in addition to the key collaboration and communication necessary among their providers of care. We recognize that building such an alliance is vital to the health and well-being of these children and their families.
HealthFOCUS is delighted to bring an alliance of health professionals, parents, educators, and community leaders, who work with and advocate for children with special needs. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to learn about the experiences of children with special needs from the children themselves.
