"Dolly" creator visits Wayne State
The 1999 Deans Distinguished Lecture will feature noted cell
biologist/embryologist Keith Campbell, DPhil, whose laboratory created "Dolly,"
the Scottish sheep famed as the first mammal to be cloned from a single adult cell. This
work touched off an international media frenzy and sparked controversy and debate
regarding the ethics of cloning higher beings.
Dr. Campbell will present a free lecture at the Wayne State University School of
Medicine (Scott Hall) on June 3 at 3:30 pm. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
will be offered. For more information, or to affirm your attendance, please call the CME
office at (313) 577-1180.
