Dr. Tancer is the Elliot D. Luby, MD Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences (DPBN) in the School of Medicine at Wayne State University and President & Chief Executive Officer of University Psychiatric Centers.  

The Directors of the Offices in Central Administration and the Directors of Research Divisions report to the Chairperson. The Office of the Chairperson directs the education-training and research missions of the DPBN via the leadership of the Directors in the Central Administrative Offices and the Directors of Research Divisions. In addition to the Directors of the Offices in Central Administration and the Directors of the Research Divisions, the Chairs of the following Executive Level Committees report to and advise Dr. Tancer: Executive Education Committee, Departmental Review Board, Research Directors Committee, Clinical Chiefs Committee, and the Executive Faculty Advisory Committee. 

PBMP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conducting clinical care, education-training, and research. PBMP is managed by a Board of Directors (BOD) composed of DPBN faculty and private citizens. The Chief Operating Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of the PBMP report to Dr. Tancer and, along with BOD, manage the clinical operations of the University Psychiatric Centers (UPCs) and several psychiatric and mental health services in the DMC.
