Medicine to host international symposium on genetic disorder in children
Wayne
State University School of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan
will host the Fourth International Scientific Symposium on Smith-Lemli-Opitz
Syndrome. The symposium, which is targeted to professionals and families of
children with SLOS, will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 22, in the
Crowne Plaza Pontchartrain, 2 Washington Blvd, Detroit. A SLOS Family-Physician
Clinic Day will be on Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Children’s
Hospital of Michigan. SLOS is an inherited condition that causes multiple birth
defects, growth retardation and mental retardation. For more information or to
