WSU School of Medicine faculty, alumni named in Town & Country’s Guide to Primary-Care Physicians

Seven Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty members were named in Town & Country’s “Guide to Primary-Care Physicians.”

The magazine partnered with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., publisher of “How to Find the Best Doctors” and “America’s Top Doctors,” to create the guide, which appeared in the August issue.

WSU doctors included are:

·        William Bristol, MD, an assistant professor of internal medicine who practices in St. Clair Shores and is affiliated with St. John’s Medical Center. He graduated from WSU SOM in 1978,

·        William Robert Carion, MD, an assistant professor of internal medicine who practices in Macomb Township and is affiliated with St. John’s Medical Center. He graduated from WSU SOM in 1980.

·        Allan Dobzyniak, MD, instructor of internal medicine who practices in Dearborn and is affiliated with Oakwood Healthcare Inc. He graduated from WSU SOM in 1969.

·        Luke Elliott, MD, an assistant professor of family medicine who practices in St. Clair Shores and is affiliated with Bon Secours Hospital. He graduated from WSU SOM in 1989.

·        Mary Beth Hardwicke, MD, an assistant professor of internal medicine who practices in St. Clair Shores and is affiliated with St. John’s Medical Center. She graduated from WSU in 1984.

·        Paula Jean Kim, MD, an associate professor of family medicine who practices in Grosse Pointe and is affiliated with Bon Secours Hospital.

·        Frederick Paul Michael, DO, an associate professor of internal medicine who practices in Detroit and is affiliated with St. John’s Medical Center.

Also included in the list was Aaron Ellis, MD, a 1982 SOM graduate who practices in St. Clair Shores.

The doctors were selected based on a nationwide survey of doctors. Besides peer review, doctors’ credentials, board certifications and disciplinary histories were examined. Candidates had to excel in terms of bedside manner, openness to alternative treatments and other qualitative criteria.

“[The doctors] are examples of the best physicians in the country,” said John J. Connolly, CEO of Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.
