FOR MAXIMIZING STUDENT DIVERSITY
IMSD
Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) formerly known as Minority Biomedical Research Support Program (MBRS) was instituted at Wayne State University in the Fall of 1978. It is a research program designed to increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans and Pacific Islanders in the field of biomedical sciences.
Freshman undergraduates with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above and graduate students after being accepted in a graduate program are eligible to apply. Undergraduate students earn up to $ 7, 134 per year as student assistants in a research laboratory. Graduate student stipend range from $ 17, 500 - 18, 500/yr plus tuition.
