The current Department of Pharmacology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine was founded in 1974 by Bernard H. Marks, Professor and Chair with Professors Gordon F. Anderson, Saradindu Dutta and Harold Goldman. In memory of Bernard Marks (1921-2000) and Saradindu Dutta (1931-1999) and in honor of Gordon Anderson and Harold Goldman, the Department of Pharmacology is establishing an endowment fund to sponsor a Founders Lecture.
