
Dr. Jinsheng Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment with the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Wayne State University College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He is also an adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He served as the director of Basic Science Course in the Department of Otolaryngology. He is currently a board member of Lions Hearing Institute of Michigan. He is the director of Laboratory of Auditory Prostheses Research. He offers two courses each year, which are Anatomy and Physiology of the Auditory System (AUD 6400) & Psychoacoustics (AUD 7410). Dr. Zhang’s current research interests include electrical stimulation to suppress tinnitus, cochlear and auditory brainstem implants.

Postdoctoral training: Auditory Neurophysiology, Wayne State University, 1997-2000.
Research Interests: Electrical stimulation to suppress tinnitus, Cochlear and auditory brainstem implants, Development of high-definition electrodes, Noise-induced hearing loss, Neural plasticity, Functional imaging with MEG, MEMRI and fMRI.
