Current activity: I direct the Center for Digestive Diseases and the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Iowa. I am a Professor in the Department of Medicine.
I study the immunoregulation of inflammation. We use animal models of helminthic infections (schistosomiasis and intestinal worms) and animal models of inflammatory bowel disease. Areas of interest include regulatory cytokines, neuropeptides and the control of inflammation, and regulatory type T cells.

Personal: I am married to Alison Weinstock and have three great children.
