Current activity: I'm currently a research associate in the lab of Joshua Adler, M.D., Ph.D. over at the VA. I've been in his lab since 1999, but before that I was in Joyce Benjamins' lab at Elliman. Since finishing my degree, I've been associated with the Neurology Department at the Medical School. In Josh's lab we are working on the involvement of cytokines in the regulation of nociceptive neuropeptides. We utilize an in vitro culture system of adult rat dorsal root ganglia and two in vivo surgical models of chronic pain. We occasionally collaborate with Ian Zitron over at William Beaumont Hospital (Royal Oak, MI), who is also "in Pain".
