Current activity: Currently Research Project Leader for Avian Immunology and Coccidiosis at the Animal Parasitic Diseases Laboratory, Animal and Natural Resources Institute, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, USDA. Recently received Outstanding Senior Scientist of Year Award at the Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture (2003), Beltsville Area Senior Research Scientist Award (2003), and Distinguished Research Achievement Award by the Korean Poultry Science Association, Korea (2001). Serves on the editorial boards of Avian Diseases (1990-present) and Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology (2000-present).

Personal: Married to Erik P. Lillehoj (I/M alumnus, 1981). Two children, Sylvia and Peter.
