Current activity: During my current employment with University of Michigan Health Center as a Postdoctoral Fellow I developed multiple lines of transgenic cTnIA164H TnI mice with and without a C-terminal epitope Flag tag using the 5.6 kb a-MHC promoter to direct expression to the heart. Results showed that myocyte contractility was enhanced especially under acidic milieu conditions in cTnIA164H vs. control myocytes.
My general project is establishing of hypoxia-responsive expression cassette for functioning in adult cardiac myocytes to improve contractive ability of cardiac cells during moderate hypoxia. I developed a set of adenovirus vectors with different amount of hypoxia-regulated element HRE (0, 2, 4, 6).
