Current activity: I am currently manager of the Specialized Testing Laboratory at St. John Hospital & Medical Center. Within this lab, we perform testing using flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, viral and autoimmune serologic techniques, molecular oncology, molecular hematology and viral load quantitation. I am busy in national organizations supporting diagnostic immunology. Since July 2003, I have been on the American Board for Medical Laboratory Immunology Part I board examination committee. I will assume chairperson of that committee July 2004. I am also active in the Association for Medical Laboratory Immunology. In August 2004, I will be secretary for this organization.

Personal: I am married to Jeffrey Flynn (I/M alum, 1991). We have 2 daughters, Amelia (grade 6) and Rebecca (grade 1). We lived on opposite coasts of the country and points in between (Maine, Jackson Laboratory 1991-1993 to Los Angeles 1999) before settling in Grosse Pointe Woods 5 years ago. I crossed over to diagnostic immunology after completing an ASM approved Immunology fellowship in Chicago in 1998.
