Welcome to the Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences
Residency Program. We are a full-accredited residency with
traditions in medical education. Our outstanding faculty and residents
are a dynamic group of individuals committed to improving the health
and well-being of our patients. Our mission is to provide training
for practicing high-quality, comprehensive, compassionate, and continuous
patient care. We serve a diverse population of patients, many underserved.
Being an integral part of the Wayne
State University School of Medicine, we emphasize strong academics
and teaching, innovative
curricula, and
interest in practice-based research.
As a university-based program, we offer additional faculty support
and guidance that further enhances the educational program. That includes
additional resources and collaborations with faculty and academic
staff in behavioral science, occupational and environmental health,
medical education, and research. There are abundant opportunities
for the committed and inquisitive resident learner. We provide excellent
clinical and didactic experience in a supportive environment and an
atmosphere of mutual respect among faculty, residents, and staff.
