Guidelines for Appointment of Residents
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in our program. Our mission is to provide training for practicing high-quality, comprehensive, compassionate and continuous patient care. As a university-based program, we offer additional faculty support and guidance that further enhances the educational program.
We accept only ERAS applications. Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis.
Interested applicants must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Eligibility
~applicants must be one of the following in order to be eligible for appointment:
a) graduate of a medical school in the U.S. or Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
b) graduate of college of osteopathic medicine in the U.S. accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
c) graduate of medical school outside of the U.S. must possess a current valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
- A Minimum of Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
~the three letters of recommendation must include a letter from the Dean of the applicant's school
- Examinations
~Successful passage of U.S.M.L.E. Part I and II and CSA exam with a score of 80 or above on USMLE preferred
- U.S. Clinical Experience Preferred
- Non-U.S. Citizen (International Medical Graduates)
~all of the above plus the following:
a) proof of current visa status (We do not sponsor H1 Visas)
b) If currently on or applying for Exchange Visitor Visa (J-1), must also provide:
1) curriculum vitae
2) Ministry of Health Letter from home government
