Judy Arnetz, PhD
, was hired as an Associate Professor. She comes from Uppsala University in Sweden, rated among the top 100 of the world's universities. She is an internationally recognized expert in epidemiology and prevention of workplace violence. She is also a leader in linking health care work environments to patient satisfaction, involvement, and treatment outcomes.


Todd Lucas,PhD, was hired as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Lucas is a social psychologist who completed his PhD at Wayne. He did post-graduate work at the University of Michigan. He is one of the up-and-coming leaders with regards to identifying psychosocial, behavioral, and biological mechanisms linking social fairness and social justice to public health disorders. Dr. Lucas is also an expert in advanced bio-statistical analysis, an increasingly important skill in today's trans-disciplinary and translational research and practice environments.



Sham Juratli,MD PhD, was hired as an Assistant Professor. Dr.Juratli is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. She completed her Medical degree
from Damascus University School of Medicine and her MPH from theUniversity of Washington. Her primary interests are in health outcomes, chronic back pain, fatigue and stress medicine.

Monty Fakhouri, MSCHS, was hired as a Researcher. Monty is a public health specialist and contract manager. He completed his degrees at Wayne State University, and is past President of the Michigan Public Health Association - an affiliate of the American Public Health Association. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), and is in progress of board certification in health care management. He is an adjunct faculty at Eastern Michigan University Graduate School of Health and Human Services and is Community and Minority Outreach Program Coordinator for Beaumont Hospital Cancer Institute. He is adept in addressing community based participatory applications, processes, gauging program impact and evaluation methods. His main interests are chronic diseases, substance abuse prevention / treatment, adolescent / youth development within a public health context, program design, program replication.
