MPH CURRICULUM:
Currently two main areas of subspecialty concentration are offered for the MPH degree, namely Public Health Practice and Occupational and Environmental Health, each with a minimum total of 42 credit hours. The following represent the MPH core, the required (major) courses for these two areas of concentration and the current range of available elective courses:

Examples of Elective Course Choices for MPH-PHP (minimum of 9 credit hours): that allows students to focus in a range of different areas of public health practice. For example those students interested in focusing on:
- Health Policy and Organizational Leadership could consider including some of the following available elective courses:

Examples of Elective Course Choices MPH-OEH (minimum of 9 credit hours): representing course clusters that demonstrate the potential to provide students with career opportunities associated with both traditional and emerging occupational and environmental health issues. Individual MPH programs can be further expanded by concomitant enrollment in one of the following graduate certificates in Occupational Safety or Environmental Health & Hazardous Materials Handling offered by the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences Programs in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
- Physicians and Other Health Care Professionals with a background in both the biological and physical sciences should consider including the following courses in their MPH plan of work.

Candidates must complete a minimum of 15 to 16 credits of course work.Electives from the above list may be taken within or outside the department. A grade point average of 3.00 in certificate coursework must be maintained. All work must be completed within three years.
