Departmental Role
As a Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Behavioral Medicine in the WSU/Crittenton Family Medicine Residency Program, I oversee the psychosocial and scholarship training of residents. I am board certified in both clinical psychology and health psychology and serve as the Director of the Primary Care Psychology Training Program. I maintain an active research program in the following areas:

  • The process of collaborative care/dual interviewing
  • Impact of personality disorder on healthcare utilization and cost
  • Psychotherapy process/outcome in patients with PTSD
  • Interpersonal violence
