Departmental Role
I am a board certified clinical psychologist, an associate professor (Clinician-Educator), and Director of Behavioral Science and Research within the WSU/Crittenton Family Medicine Residency Program. As director, I oversee the behavioral medicine and research training of residents. I also provide lectures and clinical training to residents in the Family Medicine Center and inpatient service at Crittenton Hospital. My research includes the following areas:

  • Interpersonal violence
  • Impact of personality disorder on healthcare utilization and costs
  • Behavioral medicine in medical education
  • Psychotherapy process/outcome
  • Personality, voluntary and involuntary coping, and health
  • Coping/Defense mechanisms and health-related behavior
