Anne Victoria Neale, PhD, MPH

Departmental Role

Anne Victoria Neale is a professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences (DFMPHS) where she is a member of the Division of Population Health Sciences, and faculty in the MPH graduate program.  She is also an adjunct faculty in the WSU College of Nursing, and a member of the Population Studies and Prevention Program at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.  Dr. Neale serves as the Deputy Editor of the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine, which has its editorial office in the DFMPHS, as well as the editor of Family Practice

Dr. Neale’s interests include practice-based research.  She is the Research Director of the Detroit area practice-based research network (PBRN) known as MetroNet, and also a member of the Steering Committee of the AHRQ PBRN Resource Center.  She recently completed a study to develop research best practices specific to the PBRN context.  She is currently the PI on a NIH-funded multi-site study that engages five of the eight members of the PRIME Net consortium of PBRNs to develop best practices for recruiting diverse primary care patients into research studies.
