Departmental Role

As a new faculty member since June, 2004, my departmental role is to serve as a source of expertise in health communication, particularly communication and behavioral aspects of cancer and chronic disease, interpersonal communication in health care, the roles of everyday communication in health and health behavior (e.g., peer, family, community, popular culture), and the complex challenges of analyzing how populations interpret and respond to health messages (planned and unplanned) and designing effective health messages.
