Wayne State University School of Medicine GUIDELINES FOR CLINICAL PROFESSOR EMERITUS Clinical Professor Emeritus is an honorary rank conferred on voluntary faculty members who meet the following minimum requirements:
Upon retirement, clinical faculty who, through long years of service, have substantially contributed to the mission of the School of Medicine, but who otherwise may not qualify for Emeritus status, can be awarded the official designation as Clinical Professor (retired), Clinical Associate Professor (retired) or Clinical Assistant Professor (retired).
