Children's Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department
http://www.chmkids.org/
Children's Hospital of Michigan 's emergency department is one of 12 Level one pediatric trauma centers in the United States certified by the American College of Surgeons. We treat approximately 76,000 patients per year, making our emergency department one of the 5 busiest pediatric emergency services in the country. Our ED has recently seen a 6-10% annual increase in volume, which has been reproduced so far in 2005. The pediatric emergency medicine fellowship program has been around since 1989, and continues to be strong in both clinical training and academics.

The ED underwent a complete make-over in winter of 2005. The new ED has 51 examination rooms arranged in 9 pods with an "under the sea" theme. The trauma bay consists of 3 resuscitation beds. With the implementation of the 29-minute guarantee, our busy ED promises a physician evaluation of all patients in less than 29 minutes. This amazing challenge has been successfully met by our ED staff, attending physicians, fellows, and residents. Working in our ED as a healthcare provider is one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences, and an excellent educational opportunity.

We have a state-of-the-art ED. Besides the robot you may see rolling.
