Professional liability coverage is provided while participating in residency activities in any DMC facility
Books
Each new resident is issued a copy of Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide by Tintinalli and Emergency Medicine: Concepts & Clinical Practice by Rosen et. Al. at the onset of training
Dues
Dues for the following professional organizations will be paid for each year of residency.
ACEP - American College of Emergency Physicians
EMRA - Emergency Medicine Residents Association
SAEM - Society of Academic Emergency Medicine
AMA - American Medical Association
MSMS - Michigan State Medical Society
WCMS - Wayne County Medical Society
National Conferences
Support is provided to send each PGY II resident to a national EM conference. Half of the second year class attends the annual ACEP Scientific Assembly and the other half attends the national SAEM meeting. In addition, financial support will be provided by the Emergency Medicine Department for any resident who is the first author of scientific abstract selected for presentation at a regional or national meeting in the continental United States. |
