National Conferences

All EM-2 residents are sent to a National conference. Half of the class goes to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Scientific Assembly held in the fall, and the remainder of the class attends the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Conference held each spring. It provides and opportunity to mingle with academic emergency physicians from around the country, as well as our own faculty. Opportunities to hear the latest research in the field of emergency medicine presented by the primary investigators really excites and invigorates the attendee to want to learn more. Off hours allow ample time for sight seeing, outstanding meals, and even the night life. Residents are encouraged to submit and present their own research or research performed with faculty members. The conference trip is a highlight of the residency experience.
