Late Testicular Torsion

Nuclear Medicine

Static image from a nuclear medicine testicular scan shows a large "rim sign", indicating no flow to the testicle and intense hyperemia around it.

Ultrasound

Grayscale images of the testes demonstrate decreased echogenicity of the right testicle as compared to the left. The right testis is also slightly smaller in size.

Color Doppler image of the right testis shows no intratesticular flow. There is increased flow around the testicle. The findings are compatible with late torsion.
