Aortic Tear

CT image through the upper chest shows increased soft tissue density around the ascending and descending aorta compatible with hematoma. In the descending aorta, there is a faint line in the lumen posterolaterally compatible with a tear in the aortic wall. This line correlates with the cleft seen in the aortic wall contour on the digital angiogram below.
