Financial Support |

|
|
Ph.D. students and candidates are provided financial support from sources including Wayne State University Fellowships, School of Medicine Graduate Research Assistantships, National Institutes of Health/NIH training grants, individual fellowships, and the faculty’s external research funding. An applicant who is an US citizen or permanent resident will be considered for substantive additional support, and may qualify for a Cancer Biology Summer Research Fellowship the summer before matriculation. Provided the Program’s standards of progress are met, full financial support continues until completion of the Ph.D. in Cancer Biology degree. Financial support, that includes full tuition + fees, insurances (see below), and a living allowance, has an annual cumulative value of over $35,000 for Michigan residents and over $45,000 for non-residents. The living allowance is at least the current NIH pre-doctoral trainee support level. Funds are available from various sources for candidates and trainees to report their dissertation research at national and international cancer conferences. |
