| The Wayne State campus and the nearby areas encompassing the Detroit Medical Center and Karmanos Cancer Institute are one of the safest urban locales in the state of Michigan. The university’s safety record compares favorably with other large universities in the country. Wayne State University’s 42 police officers, all of whom hold at least a bachelor’s degree, are highly trained and have full police authority in the city of Detroit. The officers and staff provide the university community with police service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For more information, visit police.wayne.edu. |
