Director, MD/PhD Combined Degree Program
Dr. Daniel A. Walz, Associate Dean for Research, joined the Department of Physiology in 1973. Before his appointment as Associate Dean he served 10 years in the University’s Office of the Vice President for Research. He is also Deputy Director for the Environmental Health Sciences Center as well as Director of the MD/PhD combined degree program. He has been the Principal Investigator on numerous federal and national agency research and training grants. His area of research is in hemostasis with an emphasis on platelets.
Ms. Dona is the Manger in the Office of Graduate Scholars. Deanna oversees admissions for all the PhD and MD/PhD students in the School of Medicine. She also oversees the tuition and fee payments and Personnel processing for all MD/PhD students. She is a great resource for information on tuition and fee payments, health benefits and financial aid.
