Audiovisual Services go back

The audiovisual service supports teaching and learning at the School of Medicine by providing the highest quality of technician assistance, advice and customer service to the faculty, staff and students. We offer a complete range of audiovisual services that include the setup, pickup, operation and maintenance of all types of audiovisual equipment including but not limited to LCD data/video projectors, video players/monitor units, laptop computer and conferencing phone systems. Temporary loan of audiovisual equipment is available for medical school faculty, staff and students.

In Scott Hall we provide support to the three large lecture halls, the graduate classrooms, various conference rooms, M-D Labs and classrooms. In The Richard J Mazurek Education Commons we provide support to the classrooms, computer labs, the Margherio Family Conference Center and other conference rooms. The audiovisual systems in the Education Commons were designed to be user friendly with the instructor or meeting coordinator accessing and running the systems with no technical assistance after being trained by the audiovisual staff.

Training for the audiovisual systems in the Education Commons and the graduate classrooms in Scott Hall can be arranged by sending an email to medcom@med.wayne.edu. Please do not wait until the last minute to request training.

All audiovisual equipment must be reserved separately from the room reservation and should be made at least 2 weeks before the event. To reserve equipment, please send an email to medcom@med.wayne.edu or FAX your request to us at 313-993-7621.  Your request should include the location, date, time both beginning and ending, type of equipment and type of service requested. Normal work hours are 8:30 – 5 Monday – Friday. There will be an overtime charge for any request outside of these hours. Please contact the audiovisual manager at 313-577-1490 if you have a special request.
