Obstetrical Anesthesiology Fellowship Program


The Department of Anesthesiology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan has one-year fellowship positions (CA-4) available for clinical, teaching, research and administrative experience in obstetric anesthesia. Deliveries at our three SE Michigan hospitals total more than 11,000 and many are challenging, high risk cases.

Although the majority of time will be spent in the Labor and Delivery Suite, rotations of one month in the Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine and one month in the Neonatal ICU will provide enhanced learning opportunities.

Fellows will assist Faculty with the daily supervision of OB residents and support obstetric anesthesia lectures and journal clubs. Each Fellow will be required to complete and submit at least one research project for publication.

Qualified applicants will have completed three years of training in an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency program, be in the examination process with the American Board of Anesthesiology, and be eligible to obtain a State of Michigan medical license.

The position offers excellent compensation and benefits including a salary of $60,000 along with four weeks vacation.
