  1. Goal :
    • To continually improve the School of Medicine curriculum, the effectiveness of teaching and student learning.

  2. Objectives :
    • To develop a student small group evaluation mechanism to assess and improve courses, lecturers and student learning.
    • To provide evaluation education and experience to students participating in the co-curricular program.
    • To provide feedback to course directors, lectures and administration on student suggestions and methods to improve course curriculum and teaching.
    • To further validate Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) outcome data.

  3. Student Participation Criteria :
    • Attend a minimum of 3 noon hour Journal Club presentations
    • Participate in evaluation training/education sessions.
    • Assist in the development of course questionnaires.
      ii. Meet with course directors to identify survey questions/needs.
      iii. Meet with administration to identify survey questions/needs.
      iv. Meet with students to identify survey questions/needs.
    • Develop sampling method to identify a cohort of students (15-20) to participate in the course evaluation discussion forum.
    • Organize the student evaluation discussion forums.
    • Lead the evaluation discussion forums.
    • Summarize outcome data.
    • Prepare summary report for School of Medicine course directors and administrators.
    • Report outcome data to course directors and SOM administrators.
