Medical students awarded for research

The Wayne State University School of Medicine hosted its annual Medical Student Research Symposium in January. The following students were awarded for excellence in research:

Honorable Mention – Poster Presentation

Honorable Mention – Oral Presentation
Matthew Steensma
Effects of an Educational Program Designed to Increase Syphilis Surveillance

First-place winners, Chadha and Chung, represented WSU at the National Student Research Forum at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in April 2000. In addition, cash prizes were awarded to all four winners.
