Scott
Dresen has been appointed director of medical school information systems for the
Wayne State University School of Medicine. He comes to WSU from the University
of Michigan Health System where he served most recently as information
technology manager for the departments of anesthesia, emergency medicine, OR,
surgery, transplant and dentistry. Prior
to joining U of M as a senior programmer analyst in 1995, Dresen served in
information system management capacities at Hoffman Estates Medical Center in
Illinois and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw, Mich. He earned his
bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing a

his new position, Dresen is charged with expansion of existing information

increase our ability to provide quality customer service to the entire medical
school community,” he said. Dresen plans to achieve this goal through
increased staffing and the implementation of a number of new initiatives. “This area is priority for us and Scott Dresen brings a great deal of leadership and expertise to the position,” said Mike Herbert, chief administrative officer for the WSU School of Medicine.
