New board members appointed
The Wayne State University School of Medicine
welcomes five new members to the Medical Alumni Board of Governors.
Great thanks to Drs. Susan Bidigare, John Kitzmiller, George Mogill,
Merle Rydesky and Michael Sandler who have joined 27 other alums in
serving on the board. Susan Bidigare, MD, ‘95, earned her
undergraduate, master’s and medical degrees from Wayne State
University. She is currently completing a family practice residency at
St. John Health System in Detroit, where she also serves as faculty for
the residency program. John Kitzmiller, MD, ‘75 George Mogill, MD, ‘42, is a physician at the
Grace Family Practice Center in Royal Oak, MI. He was named professor of
family medicine in 1994, and had previously been a clinical faculty
member at WSU since 1972. Recently, the WSU School of Medicine
established a scholarship fund in his name. Merle Rydesky, MD, ‘64, has been an emergency
medicine physician at Providence Hospital since 1987. Prior to that, he
spent two decades as chair of emergency medicine at Providence. He also
served in the United States Army upon graduation from medical school in
1964. Michael Sandler, MD, ‘71, is a senior staff radiologist at Henry Ford Hospital, where he has held several administrative positions including acting chair of radiology. Dr. Sandler is a past president of the Michigan Radiological Society and was the first diagnostic radiologist to be president of the Wayne County Medical Society. In addition, he is on the board of directors for the Michigan State Medical Society, and the Michigan Doctors Political Action Committee. Dr. Sandler received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Michigan, before completing medical school at WSU.
