In addition, Dr. Ferguson presented "Measuring Progress in the Treatment of Mental Illness" at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
Jennifer Gallant, research assistant in the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Cerebral Ischemia, presented "Selective Loss of the Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor Subtype 4 Message During Free Radical Injury" at the Society for Neuroscience meeting.

Michael Harbut, MD, assistant professor of internal medicine, was elected vice-chair of the Occupational and Environmental Lung Disease Section of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Stephen Krawetz, PhD, associate professor in ob/gyn and the Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics, was an invited speaker at the US Department of Energys annual workshop entitled Beyond the Identification of Transcribed Sequences: Functional and Expression Analysis. His presentation focused on "Organization, Structure and Expression of the Male Gamete Genome."
Robert Lisak, MD, professor and chair of neurology, presented the third annual Rikki ONeil Lecture to the Nerve Research Foundation of the University of Sydney.
Jeanne Lusher, MD, professor of pediatrics, was recently elected to serve as a member of the American Society of Hematologys scientific subcommittee on hemostasis for a four-year term. She was also appointed to the editorial board of The International Journal of Hematology.
Additionally, Dr. Lusher was a visiting professor at the Childrens Hospital of San Diego in September. In October, she became chair of the Genetics Institutes Global Hemophilia Physicians Advisory Boartd, chaired an international workshop on "Factor IX Products and Severe Allergic Reactions," and she chaired a symposium on "Inhibitor Antibodies to Clotting Factors" at the National Hemophilia Foundations annual meeting. Dr. Lusher also organized and chaired a program on "Bleeding Disorders in Women: Recognition and Management" at the annual scientific meeting of the Michigan State Medical Society.

Dr. Rosen is also an invited lecturer for the FEBS Advanced Lecture Course: ATP-Binding Cassette Proteins: From Multidrug Resistance to Genetic Disease, to be held in Austria this coming February.
