Alumni Association Welcomes New Officer

Dr. Melanie Hanna-Johnson has accepted the office of secretary of the Alumni Board of Governors.

Dr. Hanna-Johnson is a 1985 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, and she holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan. Dr. Hanna-Johnson completed her internship and residency training in the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Mich. She is a member of the Detroit Medical Society and the American Public Health Association. Currently, she is medical consultant for the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Project at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and performs executive physicals for Preferred Wellness in Southfield, Mich. In addition, Dr. Hanna-Johnson is on the Medical Advisory Committee at Harper University Hospital and is preceptor for the residency clinic at University Health Center in Detroit.
